Team Tango Alpha

foolybearjason "foolybear" lineberger

Camo: too many to list
Area: Western NC

Besides teaching college and high school, Jason is one of the most prolific writers and editors in the paintball industry. He has a regular How-To column for scenarios  and a the "Strictly Scenario"  blog for Splat! Magazine and was one of my inspirations in creating TangoAlpha2.com. Jason also edits and writes for PB2X.com as well as other publications and tours extensively reviewing fields and scenarios.

I have played with Jason at one one the local fields while he was reviewing it and we kind of struck it off. I was extremely impressed with his play. He plays well with a team, but not afraid to individually take some major paint to the enemy. In one game, I saw him systematically remove 11 of the enemy, one at a time, in less than a half hour. That was more than the entire rest of the team did combined! Myself included! It was actually more fun to watch than it was to play.

Jason Foolybear LinebergerFor all his skill and stature in the industry, Jason is a very quiet and unassuming guy. You could easily underestimate because he doesn't talk trash,or talk much at all for that matter. He just smiles, enjoys the game and takes it all in.

You can read about his exploits and reviews at Strictly Scenario (http://splatmagazine.com/strictly-scenario-blog/). Check out his column. It's well worth subscribing to if just for the how-to articles and drop him a line. You'll never meet a nicer or more dangerous paintballer!

Jason literally sprints from one hot spot to another and if you're on his team, you can either keep up or move out of the way. He is there to play and the beautiful part of that is, he kills enough guys on his own to not need a team backing him up. Lordy, don't try to slow him down!

One thing came to mind as I watch Jason play, was the old adage about Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth had more home runs than anyone in his day, but he also had the most strikeouts! Babe Ruth also had the record for the most times at bat. Jason was decimating the enemy, but was getting shot so often he looked like a Jack-In-The-Box in and out of the Dead Zone. You could tell he loves the game and was not afraid of a little (LOT) of aggression and trading paint. As much as he gets into the role playing, the action, the industry, and the experience, you can tell he looks at this as FUN and keeps the perspective that this is a GAME.

Fully immersed in the role-playing aspect of the scenario, Fooly will start the first of many deals on a given day. At one point, we started calling him "Howie Mandel" .

Foolybear is a guy I would have on my team any day of the week, if for no other reason, than he is too damned dangerous to have on the other side!
