Benefits of enlisting with Team:Tango

NEW for 2010! "Paid Event Benefit" - As part of the benefit of being a member, Team Tango Alpha2 is paying for certain events entry fees as part of an incentive based team benefit
- The member must a paid-in-full member in good standing
- They must attend the event/practice immediate prior to the Team Paid For event.
- This benefit is on a first-come first-serve basis available to a limited number of members (first 15 or so full members)
- The benefit is subject to some restrictions and our budget and our revenue from Generation Kill
- The events are pre-scheduled (subject to change), but allows members to plan out months in advance.
Team uniforms: you probably get by now that were charging $10 a month for dues (12 months at a time since I don't want to be a collection agency) but here's what you getting for that...
- Team uniform - we decided were going with a multicam ACU type uniform, to look a little more military and to give the team a unified feel. We will supply you with this uniform. You don't have to wear it, but you get one as part of the team. Our alternate pattern is Omnipat, but you are on your own there to buy it. I think you really don't like these uniforms.
- Team patch - or also to have a team patch with a logo with Velcro on the back
- Team armband - for when you don't want to wear the uniform or want to wear a Ghilly suit or something for reserve players to use or for guest members
- Embroidered name and team tapes - we will supply your callsign on a Velcro nameplate for the front left pocket of your uniform (about 1" x 4" long) as well as a similar one with the team name for your right pocket

- team roster based on the temporary team and we will refine as we finalize our membership.
- an online membership application, that if you're interested in joining we need you to fill out and submit. When you fill out the application be sure and put in the clothing sizing.

Team e-mail address - you can have your own team tango e-mail address or we can forward it to your existing e-mail address
Team online forum: a place for people to discuss and talk about paintball, we may make it so that you have to register and we will have private sections for team-only discussions. Were continuing to look into different types of forum software and I believe you'll see some big changes here in the next month or two.
Team charter: we really only have three rules... play paintball*, pay your dues, and have fun, but we realized as we grow into a bigger and bigger team that we need to have a set of guidelines to keep things running smoothly. Most of this is on the pages of the website. I'll send each team member, a PDF of it so they have a copy. But the short version is we just want everybody to work as a well coordinated team and have fun!

What you don't get...

you don't get a team that takes itself so seriously they can't have fun
you don't have to give up any family weekend days working on a paintball field to earn your spot on the team
you don't have to do any work to organize the team, unless you want to help make decisions
you don't have to worry about whether the team shows a profit for a business, because we are completely nonprofit, and our sole purpose is to play paintball
you don't have to worry about earning ranks or whether you qualify to be on an elite squad or not. We do have a command structure and we do have a rewards point system, but you don't have to participate in either in order to make an A-team.
We are not tied to any particular paintball field, so we can play other teams on a monthly basis and not get bored with the same scenarios
We are not going to be some rigid, paramilitary wannabes. We are going to be guys that have fun on the field playing a game!

What do you HAVE to do to be involved?

Play paintball. Practice and play events as an organized, coordinated team, probably once a month or more if possible.
Pay your dues once a year.
Don't cheat and DO have fun. We want the reputation of "The Good Guys who make the game fun."

Tango Alpha2 Members are enlisted on an invitational basis. Only the Commander can officially invite an individual to join the team, however all Tango Alpha2 Members are considered recruiters and can suggest or identify potential team Prospects. If an individual is offered an official invitation by the Commander, he or she must accept by following all proper channels dictated by the Team Commander. Upon acceptance of an invitation from the Commander, the Prospect must complete the requirements of Provisional status and pay their dues before being assigned to a fire team as a Full Team Member.
